As The owners of Caravan Classifieds, we have been involved in the Caravan Industry for many years. We Also Own & Operate a Sales Yard since 1993. During this time we have had contact with many people throughout the industry, as well as with private buyers and sellers with both new and second hand caravan sales.

We have received many comments and suggestions about different advertising techniques that have been used, with varying success.

We have used these experiences to compare various methods of advertising and decided something new and different was needed to satisfy the needs of private buyer and sellers of caravans and recreational vehicles. You will notice that most of our vans/poptops do not have Prices Listed. This is Not Done to Inconvience Buyers, only other dealers and those trying to gain information for their own use.
We are trying to encourage Genuine Buyers to contact us so we can assist you purchase van/poptop to suit you & your towing needs, and provide you with our BEST PRICE according to your buying circumstances.... as there could be great savings for "Cash" Buyers !!

CARAVAN BRAND CONSTRUCTION TYPES:
There are 2 main construction types for Caravan Manufacture, Meranti Timber & Aluminium . Both of these have pros & cons as to longevity, which are valid points.
If you read the popular Caravan Magazines Caravan World and Caravan & Motor Home, you will notice articles, roadtests and comments regarding this... Most of the well known & Long Standing Brands of Caravan made are Timber. Framed...
*The main point to be aware of is it is sometimes what you CANT see that makes the difference!!
As we all know, Aluminium can give a little lighter van,... but it can oxidize from water or salt air, and the rivets can sheer during travel, Also most of these vans in the lower/mid price brackets do have a content of timber,some amount of rot can still occur in an aluminium framed van , also all Internal Cabinetry Is Timber & Ply...
so it is not wise to allow ANY caravan to leak and have it repaired/serviced as soon as possible..

Meranti Frame is a little heavier due to more frame, it can get a localised rot if not properly maintained and a leak occures,this easy to repair, but Meranti gives strength and more flexability to a caravan/poptop.
This Meranti frame in most Brands of van is Glued, Screwed and Bolted to the Chassis, and is easily replaced/repaired if damaged....
Note : Take Notice next time you visit a Dealer Yard, No matter what brand of van a Dealer sells NEW , you will Always find both types of manufacture as USED vans/poptops for sale in their yards..!!
